√ Practice Hands-On Care - As a bodyworker, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of hands-on care, whether that’s by a practitioner or self-care, this work is nonnegotiable for healing our vaginas and overall pelvic bowls.
√ Work with Your Fascia - The hands-on care I’m talking about above is not massage, it’s releasing restrictions in your fascia through Myofascial Release (MFR). Using MFR techniques is how you create true lasting change and support your body to deeply release.
√ Continued Care - It takes time to release and let go of potentially decades of stored trauma and fascial restrictions that create pelvic dysfunction and disconnection. Having a daily or weekly practice, and commitment to continued self-care will benefit you greatly on your healing journey.
√ Support in Releasing Emotions and Stored Trauma - As you start to do this hands-on work you will quickly discover that it’s so much more than just physical. Processing and releasing what’s coming up for you, whether that be with other women that have common stories, with a skilled practitioner, or through self-inquiry and journal prompts, this step is crucial to continue to unwind your sacred pelvic bowl.
These steps of internal pelvic myofascial release and the journey that comes with it are about holding at the barriers and allowing your body to release all that is preventing you from feeling pure joy, creativity, and vitality.
Internal Pelvic care is not massage,
it’s not using toys internally, doing kegels or strengthening exercises.
Don’t get me wrong, sometimes these things can help certain pelvic health issues.
But that’s not what we are doing here.
It’s also not trigger point therapy, or intense deep tissue work...
